Downings
Na Dúnaibh
Three miles from Carrigart is Downings (Na Dúnaibh), a pleasant resort that commands a superb view of the Ards Peninsula and has a good sandy beach. Downings is on the rosguill pennisula and its well establised Atlantic drive touring route.
Na Dúnaibh is also one of the centres of learning for adult students of Irish.

Downings, the peninsula's main fishing village is situated on a lovely curved beach. This EU Blue Flag beach is ideal for children as the water is very shallow for a long way out.
Drivers should aware that some ordinance maps refer to the village as "downies" as do internet route finders.
