Downings Beach and Rosapenna Strand are amongst the best in Donegal with spectacular scenery of north Donegal. Relax and enjoy the views across Sheephaven Bay to the Ards peninsula (with the remains of Ard House on the point of the peninsula) and the distant flat-topped peak of Muckish Mountain.
Sheephaven Bay is ideal for water sports and deep sea angling. The Rosapenna Championship Links Golf Course is just half a mile from the village. This small peninsula jutting out into the Atlantic also has interesting walks and the panoramic Atlantic Drive.
Lifeguard
Lifeguards are on duty in July and August everyday between 12.00 noon and 6.30pm.
First Aid
A First Aid kit is available at the Beach Lifeguard Hut-12.00 and 6.30pm
