The Irish School of Landscape Painting was founded by Kenneth Webb in 1957.  The Summer Painting School will be hosted by the experienced professional artist, Sara Sue McNeill who will encourage and assist in the development of self expression on canvas as well as brushing up on your painting skills and artistic technique.

The area is awash with colour and texture.  The majestic Horn Head clad with purple heathers, the mellow yellows of the local gorse and wild bracken is home to the many seabird colonies that nest in the cliffs. Many of the walks have spectacular views of Tory Island , Innisboffin, Errigal Mountain and the three peaks and provide a Not forgetting the magnificent Muckish Mountain fused with colour and texture an exciting feature on any artist’s canvas. The three local brown trout lakes Sessiagh, Purt and New lake are controlled by Dunfanaghy Angling Association and are regularly stocked and baliffed.  Fishing permits and boat hire is available at the hotel reception.    The lakes provide the natural habitat of a large variety of wild fowl and nesting swans with their signets can be spotted on the lake. You will also see the mother sitting on her nest before the arrival of  her clutch of beautiful signets that eventually will follow her during the summer months around the lake. A wide variety of ducks, as well as cootes, moor hens, the grey heron and many other species of wild fowl also frequent the lake during the year.

Art Materials are available for sale.  Easels and stools may be hired if ordered when making a booking.
Packed Lunches are available on request.  Please bring your own thermos
